LPG – Quick Facts

• Liquefied petroleum gas or liquid petroleum gas (LPG) also known simply as propane or butane, is a flammable mixture of gases used as fuel in heating appliances and cooking equipment.
  
• LPG is most often used where there is no access to piped or mains natural gas and is stored in bulk storage tanks or semi portable bottles, providing an alternative to electricity and heating oil.
  
• As with other fossil fuels, LPG can be combined with renewable power sources to provide greater reliability while still achieving some reduction in CO2 emissions.
